KEENE, N.H. – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's cross country team placed 10th out of 31 teams on Saturday at the Keene State Invitational led by sophomores
Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport) and
Evan Schneider (Old Orchard Beach, Maine/Old Orchard Beach). Smith placed 16th with a personal-best time of 25:35.9 in the 8k. Schneider also ran a personal-best time at 25:37.1 to place 17th.
Williams College placed first at the event followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in second and Bowdoin College in third. The Huskies ranked fourth out of the seventh Little East Conference teams in attendance behind Keene State, Eastern Connecticut State and Plymouth State, who placed fifth through seventh. MIT's Dylan Fiegener was the event champion with a time of 24:45.4.
On the Course:
- Sophomore Ethan Cadorette (Biddeford, Maine) placed 81st with a personal-best time of 27:07.3.
- Sophomore Camden Cyr (Kittery, Maine/Traip Academy) also ran a personal-best time at 27:52.5 to place 119th.
- Senior Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) placed 147th with a time of 28:13.6.
- Sophomore Gavin Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) ran a time of 28:20.5 to place 152nd.
- Junior Jack Tassinari (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) placed 192nd with a time of 29:16.1.
- Senior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine) finished 205th with a time of 29:27.3.
- Senior Kyle Hartford (South Portland, Maine) placed 206th after running a time of 29:27.8.

The next meet for the Huskies will be the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, October 17 at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.
