The Spartans hold a 22-16-5 lead in the all-time series. Southern Maine won the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season on November 14 in overtime 2-1.

How It Happened:
- After a scoreless first period, Chagnon scored her first goal 8:18 into the second period with Hughes and sophomore Makenzie Woodford (Cornwall, Prince Edward Island/Mount Academy) assisting. Jackson added a second Husky goal 13:46 into the period from junior Shannon Murphy (Pembroke, Mass./Brewster Academy) and senior Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, New Brunswick/Mount Academy).
- Elizarkov scored just over a minute into the third period to extend the lead to 3-0 with Power and Eigner providing the assists. The Huskies then added two goals in the final three minutes with Chagnon scoring an empty netter and Eigner sneaking the puck past the Castleton goalie in the final minute. Â

- Chagnon now has extended her program record for game-winners to 18.
- VTSU Castleton led 26-24 in shots on goal and 30-22 in faceoff wins.
- Southern Maine went 0-for-2 on the power play while the Spartans were 0-for-4.
