Huskies Fall to Rams 3-0

BOSTON – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback on Thursday evening on the road at Suffolk University. Junior Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) led the Huskies with five kills followed by sophomore Ella Koehler (Pickerington, Ohio/Fairfield Christian Academy) with four. Junior Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) recorded a game-leading 12 digs. Freshman Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) recorded 14 assists to lead the team.
 
Suffolk's Chloe Clement was the only player to reach double figures in kills with 10 and also had four block assists and an ace. Aislinn Lanigan had a game-high 24 assists for the Rams.

Tonight's win gives Suffolk a 4-3 lead in the all-time series between the two teams.
 
How It Happened:
  • The Rams pulled away early with a 6-0 run to go ahead 8-2 and remained in the lead for a 25-14 win.
  • The hosts took the second set 25-8 to go ahead 2-0.
  • The match was bookended with another 25-14 win by the Rams to complete the sweep.
 
Inside The Stats:
  • Suffolk led 10-0 in blocks thanks largely to seven blocks assists by Emmy Thomander.
  • Freshman Lizzy Harbester (Plympton, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) led the Huskies with two aces despite only playing in one set.
 
Up Next:
The Huskies will return home to host a tri-match on Saturday with a 12:00 pm match against Mount Saint Mary College (NY) and a 4:00 pm match against Western New England University.
