How It Happened:
- Southern Maine jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Poole started it off for the Huskies with a one-out triple to the gap in right before using his speed to put USM ahead 1-0 on a passed ball. Douin then put Southern Maine up 2-0 with a home run clearing the fence in nearly the same spot. Douin's home run is third of the season, and 21st of his career.
- With McDonald and Black locking down the PSU hitters through the fourth the score remained unchanged until the bottom of the inning when Southern Maine doubled its lead to 4-0. The Huskies used back-to-back-to back singles from sophomore Mike Anquillare (North Haven, Conn.), freshman Drew Scialdone (Amesbury, Mass.) and senior Lucas Francis (Lisbon, Maine) to start the inning with Francis making it 3-0 on his RBI single through the left side. Graduate student Sam Economy (Hampden, Maine) made it 4-0 with a ground out RBI to plate Scialdone.
- USM continued to grow its lead in the fifth, tacking on two more runs as Poole, Douin and Keblinsky combined for runs. Poole led off the inning with a one-out single and moved into scoring position with a stolen base. Douin picked him up with an RBI double to the gap in left before Keblinsky singled through the left side for a 6-0 Husky advantage.
- Plymouth State got a lead off runner in the top of the sixth for its first hit of the game, but Douin, who entered in relief of Black in the fifth, came back with back-to-back strikeouts and an infield fly to keep the Panthers at bay.
- Southern Maine shut the door on the game with a six-run bottom of the sixth. Economy made it 7-0 leading off with a single and using a passed ball and an RBI ground out from senior Connor Burgess (Halifax, Mass.). With one away, the Huskies loaded the bases on three consecutive walks to set the table for Keblinsky's fireworks. Connecting on his team-leading fourth home run of the season, Keblinsky ballooned USM's lead to 11-0. Economy drove in the Huskies' final run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center three batters later for a 12-0 lead.
- Fresh off of hitting his second grand slam this season, Keblinsky entered the game to pitch in the top of the seven. After getting a ground out and a strikeout in his first two batters faced, Keblinsky allowed a double, but bounced right back with a fly out to end the game.
