Today's match was the first-ever meeting between Southern Maine and Springfield.

How It Happened:
- An 8-0 run gave Springfield a 10-4 lead in the first set before a 5-0 run by the Huskies cut the lead to a point. Sophomore Macie Ahmer (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) had a kill and two aces in the run while freshman Mariah Eaton (West Yarmouth, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) had a kill and a block assist. Springfield eventually pulled away and took the set 25-16 by ending the set on a 7-1 run.
- Springfield won the second set 25-8 after getting off to an 8-0 start
- The Huskies had an early 5-0 run that featured two kills and an ace by Eubanks-Hemme to go ahead 5-2 in the third set before Springfield retook the lead. The Pride finished off the set with a 5-0 run to win 25-16 and take the match 3-0.

- Ahmer and freshman Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) tied for the team lead in assists with seven each.
- Springfield led 15-7 in aces. Koehler and Ahmer each had two for the Huskies.

Series History:
Today's match was the second time the two school have played. Emerson won the first meeting 3-0 on September 10, 2022 as part of a tri-match at Western New England University.

How It Happened:
- Emerson won the opening set 25-11.
- The Huskies used a 6-0 run to go ahead 16-10 in the second set thanks in part two a pair of aces from Helisek. The Lions would then cut the lead to a point at 20-19 and finish the set by outscoring the Huskies 6-3 for a 25-23 win.
- Emerson started off the third set with a 6-0 run and went up 12-2 before a 5-0 rally by the Huskies cut the lead to 12-7. Freshman Lizzy Harbester (Plympton, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) had back-to-back-to-back aces as part of the run. However, the early deficit proved to be too much to overcome as Emerson took the set 25-16 to win the match.

- Koehler's nine kills led the Huskies while Eubanks-Heeme and Eaton tied for second with four each.
- Helisek had 19 assists in the match. The total is tied for her best in a three-set match this season.
