GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 by the Plymouth State University Panthers on Wednesday evening in a Little East Conference match in Gorham's Hill Gym. Tonight's match was a Dig Pink fundraising match to support The Side-Out Foundation.

Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) recorded eight kills to tie with Plymouth State's Sya McKay for the most in the game. Freshman
Taylor Joyal (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) ranked second on the team with seven. Freshman
Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) logged 21 assists in the game. Junior
Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) led the Huskies in digs with 11.

How It Happened:
- Plymouth State started the match with a 6-0 run and maintained the lead the rest of the way despite a furious effort by the Huskies to get within three points at 21-18. However, the Panthers held on to take the set 25-20.
- The Panthers had another strong start in the second set with fifth consecutive points and went on to win the set 25-8.
- The third set ended 25-16 in favor of the Panthers to give them the sweep.
