- After a scoreless first two innings, UMass Boston broke through for a run in the top of the third. Bostyn Burris led off the inning with an infield single and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch before Blake collected the first of his four hits in the game with an RBI single to left field. UMB added another runner to the bases with a walk, but Husky starter Owen Sullivan (Biddeford, Maine) came back with a double-play ball, and a strikeout to keep it 1-0.
- UMB threatened for more runs in the top of the fourth on back-to-back one-out singles, but Sullivan countered with back-to-back strikeouts to end the inning.
- The Beacons doubled their lead in the fifth as Blake led off with a double to left field, and scored on a Brandon Gaer's triple down the right field line.
- USM senior Jack LeBlond (Lewiston, Maine/Bridgton Academy) led off the bottom of the sixth with a single to center field, but did not advance as UMB starter Dillion Ryan finished his outing with three consecutive outs after LeBlond's single, including back-to-back strikeouts.
- Scoring twice in the top of the seventh, the Beacons extended their lead to 4-0. Luke Leavitt drew an RBI walk in the inning, and the Beacons scored their second run on a wild pitch.
- Southern Maine got on the scoreboard in the home half of the seventh. Sophomore Hunter Brissette (Lisbon, Maine/Lisbon Falls) drew a lead off walk and moved up a base on a single from sophomore Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony). Brissette came around to score on a fielder's choice play and an error to make it 4-1. USM had a runner on second with one out in the inning, but were unable to push another run across.
- Blake led off the eight with a single for the Beacons to complete his 4-for-4 night, but Husky Bryce Afthim (Windham, Maine), making an appearance in relief, got the next three batters in order to keep it 4-1.
- Senior Lucas Francis (Lisbon, Maine/Lisbon Falls) gave USM a base runner in the eighth, and Brissette and junior Anthony Poole (South Portland, Maine) reached safely on a walk and a single respectively in the ninth, but the Huskies stranded them all for the 4-1 final.
