BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – Quinn Mucha scored eight goals and added four assists for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Buccaneers in a Little East Conference win on Wednesday over the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's lacrosse team. The Buccaneers also had five goals and four assists from Daniel Kane, four goals and an assist from Cooper Barrett and three goals and six assists from Jack Iversen.

Aman Zunser (Lyman, Maine/ Massabesic) had four assists for the Huskies and tied with senior
Schuyler Wetmore (Cumberland Center, Maine/Greely) for the team lead in points. Wetmore had three goals and an assist. Senior

How It Happened:
- Kane opened the scoring 59 seconds into the game to give the Buccaneers a 1-0 lead. Freshman Adam Coley (Valencia, Cail./Cheshire) tied the game at 1-1 with a man-up goal off a feed from Wetmore but Mass. Maritime retook the lead on a goal by Mucha as part of a 5-0 run to close out the first quarter.
- Mucha scored two more goals as part of a four-goal second quarter for the Buccaneers. The Huskies had goals from James and Wetmore in the period. Kane and Barrett had the other goals for Mass. Maritime.
- The team combined for nine goals in the third quarter with the Buccaneers scoring five and the Huskies getting four. Barrett and Mucha each scored twice and Iversen netted the other goal and assisted on two goals. The Huskies had four different goal scorers: James, Wetmore, freshman Owen Gaulrapp (Windham, Maine) and freshman Patrick O'Driscoll (Biddeford, Maine). Zunser assisted on two of the four goals.
- The hosts scored nine more times in the final quarter and Mucha was a big factor with two goals and three assists. Kane had a hat trick in the quarter and an assist for the Buccaneers.

Inside The Stats:
- Brian Rosher went 25-for-34 on faceoffs for Mass. Maritime and had game-leading 13 ground balls.
- Freshman Iyah Lavit (Hancock, Vt./ Harwood Union) led the Huskies defense with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. His four caused turnovers tied with Mass. Maritime's Chris Sullivan for the game led.
- The Huskies went 17-for-30 on clearing attempts while the Buccaneers went 19-for-24.
- Junior Andrew James (Portland, Maine/Deering) also had an assist for the Huskies.
