How It Happened:
  • Sophomore Chris Quigley (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) had an RBI triple to the gap in right to drive in Southern Maine's first run of the game for a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but Homa responded for the Seahawks in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer to enable a four-run third inning for Salve Regina.  Tyler Petrosino had an RBI triple in the inning to put the Seahawks ahead 4-1.
  • The Huskies took one back in the top of the eighth to make it a 4-2 game off of the bat of Douin. Douin's lead off home run to right was his second hit of the game, and the sixth home run of his career.
  • Salve Regina responded with three runs in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by a two-run home run to right from Michael Breen, giving the Seahawks a 7-2 advantage headed into the ninth.
  • LeBlond started the top of the ninth strong for the Huskies with a lead off triple to center field and made it a 7-3 game when he came around to score on an RBI ground-out from junior Joe Bova (Boston, Mass./The Winchendon School), but Seahawk reliever Jason Arrigo was able to bounce back working a strikeout and a foul out around a walk to end the inning and the game.
