How It Happened:
- After a scoreless two innings, Southern Maine led 3-0 in the top of the third. Senior Jack LeBlond (Lewiston, Maine/Bridgton Academy) had an RBI single, while senior Cam Seymour (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) drove in a pair with a double to right.
- The Titans bounced back to take the lead in the bottom of the third scoring four runs. Gadmoski and Tomhave each had an RBI in the inning.
- IWU added another run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double from Woltman, and one more in the sixth for a 6-3 advantage.
- After scoring three runs in the third, the Huskies were held scoreless through the seventh as their next 13 batters after Seymour's double were retired in order.
- The Titans surged to an 8-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh, on a fielder's choice RBI from Willard. Willard moved into scoring position on a single, and then was able to score with some heads up baserunning.
- USM mounted a rally in the eighth, scoring twp runs to make it an 8-5 game. LeBlond and sophomore Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) each had an RBI in the inning, but it was the end of the Huskies' offense. After a quiet bottom of the eighth from IWU, Southern Maine went 1-2-3 in the ninth for the final.
