2024 New England Hockey Conference Quarterfinal: McKim Breaks Two Program Records as No. 5 Southern Maine Defeats No. 4 UMass Boston 5-0

BOSTON, Mass. –Senior goalie Haley McKim (Moncton, New Brunswick/Mount Academy) made 33 saves on her way to her seventh shutout of the season and the 16th of her career on Saturday afternoon in a 5-0 win for the University of Southern Maine Huskies over the UMass Boston Beacons in the quarterfinals of the women's New England Hockey Conference Tournament. McKim broke her own program record for shutouts in a season and surpassed the career record of 15 set by Karen Jamnik (2000-2004).

Junior Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) scored twice for Southern Maine and was one of three Huskies with multiple points. Sophomore Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, New Brunswick/Mount Academy) contributed a pair of assists and sophomore Jess MacLean (Red Point, Nova Scotia/Rankin School of the Narrows) had a goal and an assist. Chagnon's first goal served as the game-winner and is the 13th of her career, which ties the program record set by Holly Manning (1999-2003).
