Colby Frost (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) posted a 3-0 individual record, including two wins against regionally-ranked opponents to highlight a strong performance by the University of Southern Maine Huskies at the 2024 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Headlock for Hunger Duals hosted by Johnson & Wales University.
After dropping a 28-17 decision to Wesleyan University (Conn.) in its opening match, Southern Maine won its next three defeating Plymouth State 45-11, New England College 39-11, and Williams College 25-21. The Huskies are 7-6 in dual meets this season.
Wrestling for the first time since January 6, Frost's three wins extends his win streak to seven consecutively. Ranked fifth at 149 lbs in the region, Frost is 11-2 this season. Senior
Ethan Ford (North Andover, Mass.) also had a strong day competing at 133 lbs with a 3-0 record, while sophomore
Jake Craig (Skowhegan, Maine) extended his win streak to nine with a 3-0 mark on the day.

On the Mat:
- Ranked no. 1 at 125 lbs in the region, Craig opened the day with a strong 16-1 (7:00) technical fall victory over Chris Hong of Wesleyan. Craig pinned New England College's Michael Follo in 2:44 before closing the day with a win by forfeit against Williams. Now 19-4 on the season, Craig is ranked nationally by d3wrestle (7th) and OpenMat (6th).
- Ranked sixth in the region at 133 lbs, Ford continued to wrestle strong for the Huskies, earning an 8-4 decision against Wesleyan's Maxwell Martinez. Facing off against fourth-ranked Chris DeRosa of New England College, Ford took a solid 5-0 decision, before earning a win-by-forfeit against Williams College. Ford is now 16-3 on the season.
- Wrestling at 149 lbs, Frost is ranked fifth in the region. Opening with a hard-won 2-0 decision against Wesleyan's Ike Guttentag, Frost then earned a win by fall in 6:41 against seventh-ranked Zachary Soda of New England College. Against Williams, Frost faced sixth-ranked Caleb Seyfried winning by major decision 15-2 in a dominant performance. Ranked 10th nationally by d3wrestle, Frost's 11-2 record includes five wins by fall.
