Ethan Ford (North Andover, Mass.) and freshman
Kyle Moore (Kennebunk, Maine) each posted 3-0 individual records to highlight the University of Southern Maine Huskies' wrestling team at the Mariner Duals hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point, N.Y.
Competing in three dual meets, Southern Maine dominated Hunter 57-0, and fell to No.16 New York University 42-11 and USMMA 36-10. In addition to Ford and Moore, sophomore
Jake Craig (Skowhegan, Maine), ranked fifth nationally at 125 lbs, was victorious in his lone match of the day a match up with New York University's 15
th ranked Benny Bautista. Competing in two matches, junior
Kaleb Pool (Tucson, Arizona) continued to wrestle well going 2-0 with wins against Hunter and USMMMA.

On the Mat:
- Against NYU, the Huskies won their first three individual bouts to secure an 11-0 lead. Craig defeated Bautista in a hard-won 1-0 decision in a battle of ranked competitors. Ford earned a 12-3 major decision win over Jacob Venezia at 133 lbs, and was followed by Moore's 15-0 win by technical fall against Nick Kruczynski. Featuring four more nationally-ranked competitors in its starting lineup, NYU took over from there winning the next seven bouts for the 42-11 final.
- Down 6-0 after the 125 lb match, Ford and Moore continued their excellent form to score seven points for the Huskies. Ford earned his second major decision win of the day downing USMMA's Wesley Wydick 15-6 at 133 lbs. Moore followed with his second win of the day, an 8-3 decision over USMMA's Charlie Lausten. Pool scored the final points of the match for the Huskies earning a 14-10 decision at 157 pounds against Austin Manning.
- The Huskies swept each individual bout against Hunter for the 57-0 win, including six wins by fall. Ford competed the hat trick for major decision wins on the day, crushing Botensky Bauzile 11-1 at 133 lbs. Earning his second win by technical fall, Moore rolled to a 17-1 victory over Naman Bhasin. Pool was also victorious earning one of Southern Maine six pins, putting his opponent Nicholas D'Erasmo to the mat in 3:13.
- Ford has won his last seven matches consecutively and is 13-4. Pool has won his last six and is also 13-4. With five consecutive wins, Craig is now 16-4.
