BABSON PARK, Mass. – Michael Cook, Brant Savage and Michael O'Brien each had two hits and combined for four RBI to lead the Babson College Beavers to an 11-7 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference baseball game Thursday afternoon at Govani Field.
The win is the seventh in eight games for the Beavers, while the loss halts a seven-game winning streak for the Huskies.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- O'Brien had an RBI double to drive in the first run of a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth for the Beavers, as Babson rallied from a 5-4 deficit to surge ahead of USM 10-5. O'Brien's double was one of six Babson hits in the inning.
- Down 3-0 after the bottom of the first, Southern Maine scored three runs of its own in the top of the second highlighted by a two-run single from senior Tom Vesosky (Colchester, Vermont).
- The Huskies took the lead, 4-3, in the top of the third with an RBI single from junior Cam Seymour (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) and then led 5-3 following a lead off home run from freshman Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) in the fifth.
- The Beavers took one back in the home half of the fifth. Jack Julian led off the inning with a double and crossed home plate on an RBI single from Tanner Santos.
- Both teams added a run in the seventh, and the Huskies made it 11-7 in the top of the eighth following an RBI
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Southern Maine outhit Babson 15-11. Seymour led the way going 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI. Senior Jonathan Wilson (East Granby, Conn) was 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
- Seymour and Douin each had a home run. Seymour has five home runs this season and 25 in his career. He is tied for eighth in USM career records with Chris Burleson (2006-2009) and Ryan Pike (2006-2009). Douin's home run marked his third of 2023.
