AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Jack Moran hit a walk off single to score Tim Urlaub in the bottom of the 12
th to lead the University of Wisconsin La Crosse to a 4-3 extra inning win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies at RussMatt Invitational hosted at the Lake Myrtle Athletics Complex.

Facing each other for the fifth time, UWL leads the series with the Huskies 4-1. Southern Maine last defeated the Eagles 2-0 on March 17, 2019. UWL defeated USM 7-6 on March 19, 2022.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Huskies went ahead 2-0 in the top of the second scoring a pair of runs on four hits. Freshman Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) and senior Jonathan Wilson (East Granby, Conn.) led off the inning with a single and a double respectively, before sophomore Anthony Poole (South Portland, Maine) picked up an RBI. A batter later senior Jason Komulainen (Gorham, Maine) hit a sacrifice fly to right field for an RBI and a 2-0 Husky lead.
- UWL took one back in the bottom of the third on a fielder's choice RBI from Jack Olver to score Jordan Williams who led off the inning with a walk. The Eagles tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth after Chris VandenHeuvel led off the inning with a walk and came around to score, before UWL slipped ahead of USM 3-2 on an RBI single from Moran.
- The Huskies tied the game up at 3-3 in the top of the ninth. Poole led off the inning with a single, advanced to second on a hit batter and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt before crossing home on an RBI sacrifice fly to center field from junior Janek Luksza (South Paris, Maine/Oxford Hills). USM kept the Eagles off the board in the bottom of the ninth to force extras.
- Southern Maine had base runners in the 10, 11 and 12th innings but were unable to put a run across. In the bottom of the 12th, Moran came up with the game-winning RBI, scoring Urlaub.
