GORHAM, Maine –  Senior Jeremy Sendrowski (Scarborough, Maine) and Jake Peavey (South China, Maine/Erskine Academy) each earned a win by fall as the University of Southern Maine Huskies defeated the New England College Pilgrims 45-9 in dual meet action Friday night at Hill Gym. Prior to the match, Southern Maine honored its four departing student-athletes including Sendrowski, Peavey, Elijah Holbrook (Scarborough, Maine) and Justin Beiler (Enfield, Conn.).

On the Mat:

•  Southern Maine quickly went ahead of the Pilgrims 9-0 after the first two bouts as freshman Jake Craig (Norridgewock, Maine/Skowhegan) earned a win by forfeit at 125, and junior Ethan Ford (Andover, Mass.) gutted out a 6-5 win by decision over NEC's John Lafferty. 
• New England's Daijhawn Hudson scored his team's first points of the match with an 8-3 decision over Aidan Robichaud in the 141 match, before the Huskies won the next four consecutively.
• Sophomore Colby Frost (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) earned the first of four Husky pins of the match, downing NEC's William Patterson in 2:29 at 149 pounds.  Sendrowski followed with a win by fall in 2:56 over NEC's Adam Presa at 157 for a 21-3 USM lead.
• Southern Maine won the 165 and 174 matches by forfeit before NEC"s Beau Dillon rallied from a six-point deficit to earn a win by fall at 197 over USM's Nick Beebe in 5:39.
• In the final match, Peavey earned his 18^th win of the season to improve to 18-0 pinning Frances Boahen in 2:41 for the 45-9 final.
