WORCESTER, Mass.  –  Junior Ethan Ford (North Andover, Mass.), senior Jeremy Sendrowski (Scarborough, Maine) and graduate student Jake Peavey (South China, Maine/Erskine Academy) each went 2-0 to highlight the University of Southern Maine Huskies' wrestling team competing at the WPI Tri-Match Saturday afternoon.  Southern Maine dropped a pair of close matches falling 23-21 to host WPI in its opener, and then dropping a 24-16 decision to SUNY Brockport. The Huskies are 7-7 in dual meets this season.
 
On the Mat:

• Wrestling at 133, Ford picked up a pair of solid wins defeating WPI's Taner Thatcher 8-3 by decision, and then earning a dominant 10-0 major decision win over SUNY-Brockports Marquis Larmond.  Winning his last four matches consecutively, Ford is now 17-9 overall.
• Sendrowski had a pair of wins by fall for the Huskies at 157 pounds.  He defeated WPI's Jesse Beers with a pin in 2:33, and then pinned SUNY Brockport's Sam Grey in 1:14.
• The Huskies' nationally-ranked heavyweight wrestler, Peavey earned a win by forfeit in the opening round and then scored USM's last three points with a 4-0 decision over SUNY Brockport's Joe Yanis.  Peavey remains undefeated this season and is now 16-0.

 
Up Next:
Southern Maine hosts Trinity (Conn.), Western New England and Plymouth State on Saturday (12:00 pm) in a quad match.
