BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Five different Bears tallied multiple-goals as the Bridgewater State University Bears took down the University of Southern Maine Huskies 16-11 on Saturday afternoon in Bridgewater. Delaney Langton (Scituate, RI/Scituate) led the Bears in scoring with four goals on the day.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-The Huskies got out to a strong start as Rachel Shanks (Naples, Maine/Lake Region) and Emily Baker (Limerick, Maine/Massabesic) each scored two first quarter goals. Kate Colvin (Winchester, Mass./Governor's Academy) and Jillian Nichols (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) also found the back of the net in the first, giving the Huskies an early 6-4 lead.
-Colvin scored again in the second period, but four goals for the Bears gave them a slight 8-7 lead at half time.
-The Bears and Huskies traded goals back and forth, each netting three in the third quarter to bring the score to 11-0 Bridgewater State with one quarter to play. Colvin had all three of the Huskies goals in the third quarter, while Kelsi Brennan (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) scored two for the Bears.
-Langton scored for the Bears and Shanks answered right back for the Huskies to start the last period, but Bridgewater State went on a 4-0 run to end the game and grab the 16-11 win.
-Defensively, Maeve McGarrity (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Huskies, while Brennan had three ground balls and five turnovers for the Bears.
-Bridgewater State out-shot Southern Maine 32-21 and turned the ball over just 23 times to the Huskies' 29.
-Southern Maine converted both of their man-up opportunities. They now have five up goals on the season.
