GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine women's ice hockey team saw their four-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of Colby College. The Mules, who are ranked #10 in the country in the DCU/USCHO Division III Women's Poll, defeated the Huskies by a score of 7-2 with sophomore
Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) scoring both Husky goals.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- The Mules scored four goals in the first 11 minutes of play with three coming against McKim and one against Fredenburg.
- Chagnon scored her eighth goal of the season in the second period to put the Huskies on the scoreboard.
- Colby answered with a powerplay goal a few minutes later to extend the lead to 5-1.
- The Mules scored their sixth goal of the game just over a minute into the third period.
- Chagnon scored her second goal of the game 3:49 into the third after collecting an Amanda Crowley (South Yarmouth, Mass./Tilton School) pass and making a nice deke to fool a Colby defender and rip a shot past the Busky for her ninth goal of the season.
- A goal by Sophia Kennedy made the final score 7-2 in favor of Colby.
- Kennedy and Meg Rittenhouse each scored twice for Colby while Bri Michaud-Nolan notched two assists.
