Noah Perry (Waterboro, Maine/Massabesic) scored in the 37
th minute and senior goalkeeper
Hayes Estrella (Kennebunk, Maine/Thornton Academy) came up big when he needed to leading the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 1-0 win over the Fisher College Falcons in a non-conference men's soccer game Thursday night at Hannaford Field.
The meeting was the first between the Huskies and the Falcons.

How It Happened:
- Southern Maine pressured the Falcons from the start ringing up seven shots in the first 20 minutes; however, the Huskies put just one on frame.
- Fisher nearly took the lead against the run of play in the 20th minute when forward Drake Hampton (Queen Creek, Arizona) sprung free of the Huskies' defense and found himself one-on-one in the box with Estrella. Estrella made a big play coming off of his line and cutting down Drake's angles to the goal, making a kick save out of bounds .
- After the Fisher attempt, USM returned to its offensive third running up four shots, including two that were parried away from Falcon goalkeeper Mario Iglesias. The Huskies finally broke through in the 37th minute when senior Zekariya Shaib (Portland, Maine) laid a ball off into the 18 towards Perry. Perry struck the ball low and to the far post for his second goal of the season.
- Estrella made another spectacular save to earn the shutout and preserve the win in the 66th minute. After the Falcons were awarded a free kick at 25 yards, Juan Pablo Villaloos (El Paso, Texas) bent his shot around the wall, but Estrella dove to his left to make the save.

- Perry's game-winner is the first of his career.
- USM outshot Fisher 26-5 (10-2 on frame) and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
