GORHAM, Maine. – Senior
Sophie Lindsay (Sierra Madre, Cail./Pasadena) became the fourth player in University of Southern Maine Volleyball history to reach the 2,000 assist milestone on Thursday evening. Lindsay logged 17 assists to bring her career total to 2002. However, the Huskies were defeated by the Rivier University Raiders in three sets.

Score: Raiders 3, Huskies 0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-23, 25-15)
Records: Southern Maine: 5-19, Rivier: 23-4
History: The Raiders are now 7-0 against the Huskies.
How It Happened:
- Rivier took the first set by a score of 25-20 thanks in part to five service aces and eight kills in the set from Lily Sills.
- The Raiders controlled most of the second set and only trailed once before reclaiming the lead.
- The third set saw the teams battle hard and momentum swing back-and-forth as each team put together strong stretches without being fully able to pull away on the scoreboard. In the end the Raiders pulled out a 25-23 victory to sweep the match three sets to none.
Inside The Boxscore
- Lindsay's 17 assists led the Huskies as did her 14 digs.
- Junior Meg Perry (Gorham, Maine) tallied 20 points off of 13 kills and seven aces.
- Junior Brianna Delloiacono (Moodus, Conn./ Nathan Hale-Ray) notched eight kills to lead the Huskies in the stat followed by six from sophomore Isabella Smith (Merrimack, N.H.).
- Smith led the team in aces with three total.
- Junior Sierra Castonguay (Nottingham, N.H./Dover) chipped in with nine digs and three assists.
- Rivier's Sydney Racevicius recorded 13 kills, 11 digs and five aces.
- Avery Pollard led all players with 33 assists.
Up Next: The team will wrap up the regular season on Saturday at a tri-match hosted by Western Connecticut State University. The Huskies will play a LEC match against WestConn at noon and face College of Mount Saint Vincent in a non-conference contest at 2PM.
