KEENE, N.H. – Irini Stefanakos scored twice in the fourth quarter to lead the Keene State College Owls to a 4-2 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference field hockey game Saturday afternoon at the Owl Athletic Conference.
With the win, Keene State improves to 9-8 overall and 7-2 in the Little East. Southern Maine sees its four-game win streak end, and drops its record to 12-6 and 9-2 Little East. Facing each other for the 44
th time in series history, Keene leads the overall series 32-12.

How It Happened:
- After a scoreless first quarter, KSC quickly struck twice in the second on goals from Demetria Gonzalez and Hannah Wood in the 20th and 21st minute, taking its two-goal lead into the halftime break.
- Southern Maine trimmed its deficit to one goal less than a minute before the third quarter expired on an unassisted goal from junior Chloe Arsenault (Boothbay, Maine) in the 45th minute.
- The Owls answered right back to start the fourth as Stefanakos scored the first of her two goals in the 47th minute. USM junior Hannah Banks (Belfast, Maine) brought the Huskies to within a goal of the Owls, again, scoring in the 55th minute, but Stefanakos closed the door on the game scoring in the 56th for the 4-2 final.

Inside The Statistics:
- Arsenault's goal was her sixth of the season, while Banks scored her fifth of the season .
- Freshman Olivia Staggs (Sabattus, Maine/Oak Hill) had a defensive save for the Huskies, earning her third of the season.
