WATERVILLE, Maine – Senior
Hayes Estrella (Kennebunk, Maine/Thornton Academy) made three saves as the University of Southern Maine Huskies battled the Thomas College Terriers to a 0-0 draw in a non-conference men's soccer game Wednesday night at Smith Field.
The draw is the seventh of the season for the Huskies who are now 4-4-7, extending their unbeaten streak to seven games (2-0-5). The Huskies have had four scoreless draws in their last five tie games.

How It Happened:
- Southern Maine out shot Thomas 15-7 (4-3 on goal) in the contest but were unable to find a goal over the 90 minutes of action. Junior Yahya Altaie (Westbrook, Maine), senior Orlando Herrera (Milbridge, Maine/Sumner Memorial), sophomore Tyler St. Martin (Lebanon, NH) and junior Mohamed Abdurahman (Portland, Maine/Deering) each had a shot on goal for USM.
- Estrella kept a clean sheet for the ninth time this season, making his third save of the game late on a shot from the Terriers' Joseph Thomas in the 82nd minute.

- Estrella's shutout is his ninth of the season and the 11th of his career. His nine shutouts are tied for second in USM single season records with Steve deBree and Mark Pelkey. deBree the single-season record holder with 10 shutouts (1979), had nine in 1976, while Pelkey also had nine in 1981. His 11 career shutouts move him into sole possession of sixth in Husky career records.
- USM had a 9-3 advantage in shots in the second half, and led the Terriers in corner kicks 5-3.
