GORHAM, Maine – Freshman
Mia Sargent (Portland, Maine/Deering) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies women's soccer team has been named the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Sargent is the second member of the Huskies' women's soccer team to earn weekly accolades from the LEC, joining classmate
Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine) who has been named the Rookie of the Week twice.

Sargent has played in all eight of the Huskies' (5-1-2, 0-1-1 LEC) this season and has started seven. The team-leader in minutes played, Sargent has directed a Huskies' defense that is allowing just .75 goals against per game, which is tied for first in the Little East.
Southern Maine travels for its next two contests heading to UMass Boston on Wednesday (6:00 pm) and UMass Dartmouth on Saturday (1:00 pm). Both contests are Little East Conference matchups.
