BANGOR, ME – The University of Southern Maine volleyball team's winning streak reached three games as they swept through non-conference opponent Husson University Tuesday evening. With the victory, the Huskies improve to 5-6 overall while the Eagles slide o 2-8 overall.
 
The sweep was the third straight for USM as they have not lost a set during their last three matches. It was their fourth three-set win during the 2021 season. Husson suffered their eighth consecutive defeat and they have been outscored 15-1 across their last five matches.

Score: Huskies 3, Eagles 0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-18)
 
History: This was the 54th meeting between the two programs. The Huskies are 38-16 against the Eagles in the series.
 
Standout Huskies: senior right side Kim Grant (Saco, ME): five kills, .313 hitting% and freshman setter Phoebe Slovenski (Cape Neddick, ME): 13 digs, four service aces.
 
Standout Eagle: Julia Leavitt: five kills, two service aces, one dig.
 
Inside The Box Score: 
-Both programs recorded a low kill total with Southern Maine amassing 23 to Husson's 20. 
-Southern Maine had seven service aces compared to their opponents zero.
-Reigning Little East Conference Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week Alizia Lagando's (Huron, OH) five-game double-double streak ended as she recorded only seven kills and seven assists.
-Phoebe Slovenski reached four aces for the third time this season, which is her single-game match-high mark.
