Box Score GORHAM, Maine -- Junior Will Heaney (Jacksonville, Fla.) scored a pair of goals to help the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Bears shut out the host University of Southern Maine Huskies 3-0 in the second day of play in the USM Men's Soccer Classic Saturday at Hannaford Field.
In the earlier game, sophomore Jordan Sindo (New Bedford, Mass.) scored in the seventh minute of overtime to give the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Corsairs a 1-0 sudden-death overtime victory over the Saint Joseph's College Monks.
UMass Dartmouth finished the tournament 2-0 with its pair of overtime victories. Coast Guard, which lost in overtime to UMD on Friday, and Saint Joseph's finished 1-1. Southern Maine was 0-2.

The Bears dominated the youthful Huskies out shooting the host side 20-3 and piling up a 12-0 margin in corner kicks. Senior Greg Kennerley (Weymouth, Mass.) gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute with a 12-yard blast past USM freshman goalkeeper Korey Mulherin (Leeds, Maine/Leavitt).
Heaney made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute with his long, arcing shot over Mulherin. Heaney completed the scoring in the 58th minute heading home a cross from the left wing by sophomore Matthew Bogdan (Lexington Park, Md.).
CG sophomore goalkeeper Richie Burns (Long Beach, Calif.) did not have to record a save in the shutout. Mulherin had five saves in the first half before giving way to senior Jeremy Turner (Portland, Maine/Deering) at halftime. Turner registered two saves over the final 45 minutes.
Southern Maine looks for its first win of the season on Wednesday (4:00 p.m.) when it travels to the University of New England. Coast Guard is off until next Saturday (11:30 a.m.) when it plays its home opener against Merchant Marine.

Sindo netted the only goal in the tightly contested match in the first sudden death overtime period as his shot from the top of the 18-yard box deflected off a Saint Joseph's defender wrong-footing rookie goalkeeper Scott Benner (Post Falls, Idaho).
UMD out shot St. Joseph's 22-10 and had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. UMD senior goalie Mike Phelan (Carver, Mass.) made five saves to collect the shutout. Benner registered seven saves.
The Corsairs will host Daniel Webster College next Saturday (7:00 p.m.) for their home opener. The Monks travel to Thomas College on Thursday (7:00 p.m.).
