Keene State Shuts Out Southern Maine 3-0

KEENE, N.H.  –  Senior middle blocker Ellyse Davis (Londonderry, N.H.) finished with a match-high seven kills on 10 attempts for an outstanding .700 hitting percentage to lead the Keene State College Owls to a 3-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference women's volleyball match Tuesday night at Spaulding Gym in Keene, N.H.

         Keene State improves its winning-streak to six matches in a row and its overall record to 16-10 and 5-1 in the Little East.  The Huskies fall to 0-20 and 0-6 in the Little East.

         Ellyse added three service aces as the Owls downed the Huskies in commanding fashion 25-10, 25-5 and 25-10.  Senior outside hitter Bridget O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) added five kills and a team-high seven digs, while senior setter Laurie Whalen (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) chipped in 17 assists and three kills.

         The Huskies were led by sophomores Alysse Tasse (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford) and Annie Mitchell (Gorham, Maine).  Tasse had three kills and Mitchell had a match-high eight digs and two kills. 

         Southern Maine hosts St. Joseph's College (Maine) on Thursday (7:00 p.m.) in a non-conference match.  Keene State travels to UMass Boston on Thursday (6:00 p.m.) for a LEC match.
