Box Score GORHAM, Maine - Sophomore setter Megan Patch (Bethpage, Tenn./Red Boiling Springs) recorded her 1000th career assist as the Pine Manor College Gators defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies 3-0 in a non-conference women's volleyball match Tuesday night at Hill Gymnasium I Gorham, Maine.
The Gators defeated Southern Maine in three games 25-15, 25-13 and 25-20 to improve to 14-4 overall. The loss drops the Huskies' record to 0-18.
Patch had a match-high 24 assists as the Gators hit for a solid .320 as a team (37 kills, 13 errors and 75 attempts). Junior outside hitter Alie Johnston (Winnipeg, Manitoba/River East Collegiate) had 11 kills and eight digs for the Gators while senior middle hitter Jennifer Gross (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades) had 10 kills.
Southern Maine senior Hannah Patterson (Londonderry, N.H.) led the Huskies with six kills and a match-high five solo blocks. The 6-1 senior has 21 solo blocks this season and 24 total blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Annie Mitchell (Gorham, Maine) and senior outside hitter Mary Vaughan (Brunswick, Maine/Pomfret) each had four kills, while Mitchell had a match-high nine digs. Sophomore setter Madalyn Terry (Kennebunkport, Maine/Kennebunk) had two kills, 10 assists and seven digs.
Southern Maine hosts Rhode Island College on Friday (7:00 p.m.) in a Little East Conference match. Pine Manor College travels to Johnson and Wales on Saturday (2:00 p.m.).
