WENHAM, Mass. -- The University of Southern Maine Huskies women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday falling to the Gordon College Fightin' Scots 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-8) and to the Wellesley College Blue 3-0 (25-8, 25-22, 25-11).
With the pair of losses, Southern Maine falls to 3-15 overall. Gordon improved to 3-17 with the win, while Wellesley upped its record to 10-4.
In the first match, senior outside hitter Shannon Shuttle (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Regional) paced the Huskies with six kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Shuttle added two digs. Junior setter Hallie Noah (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage) tossed in six kills, nine assists, two service aces and two digs.
Against Wellesley, freshman outside hitter Meghan Rumore (Manchester, N.H./Manchester West) and senior opposite Danielle Netland (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) each had three kills.
Southern Maine returns to action at Plymouth State University on Tuesday (6:00 p.m.).
