PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- Junior Elissa Morin (Nashua, N.H.) recorded seven kills in nine attempts Tuesday evening as the Plymouth State University women's volleyball team coasted to an easy, 3-0 victory over the University of Southern Maine in a Little East Conference match at Foley Gymnasium.
Freshman Kaitlyn Tedeschi (Pascoag, R.I.) added six kills and a team-high three blocks for the Panthers, who won by scores of 25-7, 25-14 and 25-11. Freshman Allie Jones (Canton, Mass.) also contributed seven service aces as PSU improved to 13-10 overall and 3-1 in LEC matches.
The Huskies were handed their fifth straight loss and fell to 3-17 overall and 0-4 in conference play. Senior Danielle Netland (Cumberland, Maine) led the visitors with 10 digs.
Plymouth State will serve as the host of the Little East/NEWMAC Challenge this Saturday at Foley Gymnasium, with PSU and Keene State College facing Smith College and Mount Holyoke College. The Panthers will play Smith at 2:00 p.m. and Mount Holyoke at 6:00 p.m.
Southern Maine returns home to host the University of Maine Farmington on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
