GORHAM, Maine    –  Freshman Maddie Niles (Benton, Maine/Lawrence) of the University of has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, and fourth time in 2025. 
 
With six goals and three assists for 15 points through 18 career games as a Husky, Niles was instrumental in a 2-0 week for the Huskies that included a 2-1 overtime win against New England College, and a 2-1 come-from-behind win over WestConn in Little East action.  Niles earned her third assist of the season in the 65^th minute finding classmate Mackenzie Hall (Westbrook, Maine) in the circle for the game-winning goal over the Pilgrims.  Against WestConn, Niles picked up her sixth goal tying the game up in the 40^th minute. 
 
Southern Maine travels to Plymouth State University on Tuesday, October 28 (4:00 pm) in Little East Conference action, and then closes out its 2025 regular season on Saturday, November 1 (1:00 pm) vs. Keene State in conference play. The 2025 LEC tournament begins on Tuesday, November 4 (tba).  Qualified teams, pairings, location and times will be announced prior to the tournament.
