MIT Last Chance Meet on Thursday
HANOVER, N.H. -- University of Southern Maine sophomore Jhanel Potts (Boston, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) and senior Rachel Ingram (Winthrop, Maine) represented the women's track and field team at the 2018 NEICAAA (New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association) New England Outdoor Championships held Friday and Saturday at Dartmouth College.
The NEICAAA championships features schools from all three NCAA divisions.
On Friday, Potts posted the 12th quickest time in the trials of the 100-meter dash flashing across the finish line in 12.40 seconds, and later had the 14th fastest time in the 200-meter trials at 25.48 seconds.
Ingram placed 14th in the triple jump on Saturday with her mark of 11.05 meters (36-3).
Northeastern University won the team title scoring 121 points. Host Dartmouth was runner-up with 99.62 points. The University of Massachusetts Amherst was third with 86.50, followed the University of Rhode Island with 82.12 and the University of New Hampshire with 67.12.
Southern Maine will send selected competitors to the Last Chance Meet at M.I.T. on Thursday for the final event of the 2018 season.
