Now in his seventh season as an assistant coach with the women's soccer program, Andy Halligan came to USM after spending a stint as an assistant and freshman team coach at Cheverus High School (Portland, Maine).
Halligan continues to be active locally at the club level working with the MPS Portland Phoenix as the U18, 19 head coach in addition to his duties with the Huskies. He is a USSF nationally licensed coach.
A 2005 graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in history, Halligan played on two state championship teams and was an All-State scholastic player while attending Falmouth (Maine) High School.
He played one season at the University of North Carolina Charlotte where the team advanced to the semi-finals of the Conference- USA tournament before transferring to UMaine. He played three seasons for the Black Bears including the 2003 campaign when they made the team’s first America East Conference tournament appearance in 14 years.
