In a highly-competitive and talented field of 20 student-athletes, Even finished 17th with a time of three minutes, 58.90 seconds. Twelve of the 20 participants advanced to the championship round of the 1500-meters which will be held on Saturday (7:00 p.m. EST).
Competing in his NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship, Even earned his qualification as one of the top 20 runners in the country at the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship. Even, the Southern Maine school-record holder in the event, had a qualifying time of three minutes, 51.12 seconds. Even's time in the 1500-meter run at the ECAC Championship bettered his previous record breaking performance of 3:53.17 set at the NCAA New England Division III Championship. At the time, Even's finish at the NCAA New England Division III Championship snapped a six-year-old Husky mark of 3:56.10.
